Tolman was also a role on The Mindy Show as Abby Berman a romance writer. In 2015 she played an supporting role of Michael Dougherty s comedy horror film Krampus. Tolman was turned down for character roles as supporting actors such as best friends, wives, and mothers following her breakout role in Fargo. Tolman was seeking for a role that was different. Tolman played a character on ABC in Downward Dog (based on Animal Media Group's web-series). The series ended after one season. In addition, she starred on the ABC drama show Emergence, which premiered on September 24, 2019 it was cancelled after one season on May 21, 2020, despite getting "pretty decent" ratings, according to Tolman via Twitter. She guest starred on NBC's Good Girls. In 2021, she appeared in the role of Alma Filcott in the second season of the drama series Why Women Kill, and was Natalie Green in The Facts of Life portion in the third episode of Live in Front of a Studio Audience.
